Get a Second Opinion Before You Replace Your AC

Someone just quoted you thousands for a new system. Before you sign anything, get a second set of eyes on it. We inspect the system, show you the part in question, and price the repair and the replacement side by side. Approve a repair and your Service Call is FREE With Repair.

A new air conditioning system is a large purchase. It deserves a second look, the same way anyone would get a second quote on a roof or a car repair. We are a family owned shop, licensed and insured under CAC1824638, serving all of Miami-Dade and Broward County. We inspect the system, show you the actual part in question, explain what is failing and what is not, and give you a written price for the repair and for the replacement side by side. Then you compare and you decide.

When a second look is worth getting

    • The system is under 10 years old. A unit that young still has a lot of life in it, and one failed part does not mean the whole system is done.
    • One component failed but the quote covers the whole system. That is a reason to ask what the rest of the system actually looks like.
    • The quote has no written breakdown of parts and labor. A single number with no detail is hard to compare to anything.
    • You were asked to decide the same day. A large purchase deserves a little time, and a second look gives you that.
    • You were told the refrigerant is obsolete but not what that means for your unit. There is a real answer, and it is worth hearing before you decide.
    • You never saw the part that failed. Seeing the part is the single most useful thing a second look can give you.

Repairs that often get quoted as replacements

Most of the parts that fail on a South Florida system are usually repairable. A few genuinely point to replacement. Knowing the difference is the whole point of a second look.

    Usually repairable

    • Capacitor
    • Contactor
    • Blower motor
    • Fan motor
    • Control board
    • Clogged drain line
    • Dirty coil

    Points to replacement

    • Compressor failure on an older unit
    • A cracked coil on a system past its life
    • Repeated refrigerant leaks in an aging system

We show you which one you have and explain why. When a repair will do the job, we repair it. We only recommend a replacement when a repair will not hold. Read more about residential AC repairs and AC installation and replacement.

What we do on a second opinion visit

We inspect the system from the outdoor unit to the air handler. We pull the access panels, check the electrical, read the refrigerant pressures, and look at the coils and the drain line. We do all of this in front of you so you can see what we see.

Then we show you the actual part in question. We explain what it does, what it is doing now, and what the rest of the system looks like. You get to look at the part yourself. Seeing the part is the single most useful thing a second look can give you.

Finally we give you a written price for the repair and for the replacement side by side so you can compare them. We explain what each one costs and what each one buys you. You decide, with the facts in front of you. Approve a repair and your Service Call is FREE With Repair. Sometimes the real problem is in the ductwork, not the unit, and a duct inspection is the fix.

Often the first quote is right

A lot of the systems we look at do need replacing, and when that is the case we say so and explain why. A compressor failure on an older unit, a cracked coil on a system past its life, or repeated refrigerant leaks in an aging system genuinely point to replacement. Being willing to confirm someone else's diagnosis is what makes the second look worth anything. If the first quote was right, you leave knowing the call was the right one. If it was not, you just saved yourself thousands. Either way you decide with the facts in front of you.

    Questions homeowners ask us

    Where we do second opinions

We do second opinion visits across all of Miami-Dade and Broward County. Whole neighborhoods in Pembroke Pines and Miramar are reaching replacement age at the same time, so a lot of homeowners there are collecting quotes right now. In Cutler Bay the post-1992 rebuilds mean whole streets were told the same thing in the same month. Wherever you are, bring us the quote and we will go through it with you.
